I have always wanted to write a Journal but really did not know where and how to start. I also do not think I can commit to writing everyday. But I found journal writing prompts and found "The Year of You".
My google search began from "pre-made questions" for journaling to "journal prompts". I landed on websites that provided a list of questions to answer everyday or a selection of words to select from as "prompts". Then I began writing prompts on a pieces of paper. 5 pieces of paper turned into 20+ something. I did not count, of course. I folded each piece of paper and placed them in a mason jar. Alright, I am ready to start on January 1st, 2019. Hmmm, something did not fill the gap for me.
After spending at least an hour writing on small pieces of paper and folding them I jumped back in to another internet search. I founds several annual journals with daily prompts that I can answer. Great! I want to see them in person so I checked online if our local Barnes & Noble have them in store. I went to the store with a goal of sticking to my plan and not doing a detour to other sections of the store. Well, these stores are too smart to place their journals spread out all over the store. I ended up doing a full walk-through of the store like I work there. I saw one copy of "The Year of You". It is a very small booklet! I thought, that's too small and I don't think I have time or the inclination to handwrite. I live in my Apple Notes, FYI. After at least an hour wasted in a brick-and-mortar, I decided to go check Amazon.com. There's an e-book version of "The Year of You". Perfect! So I purchased the e-book. That's when I realized that this "journal" is what I have been looking for!
By the way, I am not advertising "The Year of You" and I am definitely not getting any commission if you decide to purchase the same journal. I am just psyched about it and really enjoying this journal.
The Year of You has daily prompts or questions for you to answer. Your responses to each question may vary from a few words, a sentence or two, or a paragraph. Aside from this format fitting my schedule really well, I got really excited about Monthly Themes! Themes! Yes, I repeated the word "Themes"! Every month there is a theme! After this discovery, I began doing a copy/paste of the prompts for the next 7 days into my Apple Notes.
I created a Notebook specifically for my Journaling and I think I am very pleased of myself being this organized. I also got inspired organizing my Apple Notes. See for yourself! Isn't it wonderful?!
After January 1st, 2019 came and after answering the first few prompts, I thought of inviting a couple of my friends to join me in my journaling journey. I was so happy to find out that they were both psyched to join me on my journaling journey! I think it is nice to share the experience with other people! So now, there's a three of us on this "Year of You" journey!
